Medal Parade Ceremony of Pak Army Contingent celebrated at El-Geneina UN Mission Darfur
Darfur: (Wednesday, February 08, 2012) Medal Parade Ceremony of Pak Contingent was celebrated at El-Geneina United Nations Mission at Darfur. Force Commander UNAMID, Lieutenant General Patrick Nyamvumba graced
the occasion as Chief Guest.
Mission Chief of Staff, Force Chief of Staff, General Officer Commander Sudan, Wali El-Geninea, Military and Police Commanders Sector West, Head of Office Sector West, Staff Officers, Military Observers and other International
staff also attended the ceremony.
The parade ceremony was conducted in a befitting manner by Pakistan Army Contingent. Lieutenant General Patrick Nyavumba, the chief guest inspected the gallant and spirited parade column.
The ceremony started with the recitation and translation of Holy Quran. The Pakistani soldiers were then decorated with the coveted UN Peace Medal by the chief guest, Force Commander UNAMID, Lieutenant General Patrick Nyavumba.
In his address the chief guest, Force Commander (UNAMID) Lieutenant General Patrick Nyamvumba highly appreciated the whole preparation for the occasion and paid tribute to Pakistan Army for their contributions in making world a
better and peaceful place. He also presented three certificates of appreciation each for Pakistan Contingent, Pakistan Engineer Company and Pakistan Field Hospital for their meritorious services in UNAMID.
