Apple rumoured to release a 15-inch model to Macbook Air – Part 1
Thursday, February 9th, 2012 5:36:00 by Usman KhalidThe rumour mill is rolling again on Apple as the company is allegedly planning to release a 15-inch Macbook Air. Technology experts have been saying for the last two or three years that the world needs a 15-inch super-slim laptop and finally Tim Cook seems to understand the need.
However, it is just a word on the street; there is no supporting evidence to case. The only substantial evidence is that vendors are now making 15-inch screens for the Air, but that could be for Pro either.
The questions here are that what makes the users crave for a 15-inch Air and will it be success?
The 13-inch Macbook Air is a marvellous piece of electronic and it goes without saying that it is the device behind the revolutionary iPad and host of ultrabooks that ruled the Consumer Electronic Show 2012.
The super-slim laptop gives the customers a light weight thin solution to desktop computing on the go. It has a solid-state hard drive and no optical drives like DVDs and Blu-Rays. Which concludes that the device holds no moving parts whatsoever in it.
The absence of an optical drive in the Air or other ultrabooks like Toshiba Protégé has not bothered the public much. There have evolved a number of other solutions that have made the DVDs and Blu-Ray Discs look like a thing of the past. The online banks of files and streaming and gaming folders available on torrent websites have almost completely eliminated the need of optical drives.
However, the need of the 15-inch screen still remains in the market. A bigger screen means bigger picture and that is a plus. In laptops case bigger definitely means good. However, the point is whether Apple will go for it or not?
