Islamabad: Yousaf Raza Gilani, the Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan, said that government is responsible to satisfy the housing needs of people and is committed to work in this regard to safeguard the rights of senior retired civil servants.
PM said this while talking on the occasion of new housing scheme for the retired senior civil servants in Islamabad. Kurri Road Housing Scheme, launched by the Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) will consist on three housing units for the officers of grade
20, 21 and 22.
These houses will be given to the senior retired officers on ownership basis in very reasonable prices. An area of 90 acres has been specified for this housing scheme.
Many officials attended this occasion including Housing and Works’ Minister, Faisal Saleh Hayat, Secretary Kamran Lashari, and many other members of parliament, federal ministers.
While talking to the people on the occasion, Gilani said that government will take benefit by involving the private sector.
He said, "I believe we can achieve more by working on joint ventures."
While talking about the objective of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Gilani said that "Rotti, Kapra aur Makan" will be provided and the government will continue working to achieve this objective.
Gilani also said that the civil servants play the pivotal role in the keeping the system in order and also contribute to the better governance. They also play an important role in the implementation of policies.
The PM also said that civil servants should be given respect and they should also be provided with all needs for a better living. He also appreciated Housing and Work’s Ministry and PHA for their initiative to solve housing problems for the retired government
servants.
This scheme is planned to meet the higher standards of living and all facilities will be available which are required to live a satisfied life.
This scheme will satisfy the housing needs of those civil servants who have been serving at the key positions in different departments of the country.
PM advised Housing and Work’s Ministry to form a committee for monitoring the progress and implementation of plan in this housing scheme.
