We are not afraid of courts: says Mukhtar

Lahore: (Friday, February 10, 2012) Federal Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar talking to the journalists at Lahore Airport today said that Pakistan Peoples’ Party respects judiciary, and that they were not afraid of courts.

Expressing his views, Mukhtar termed the Memo case as most significant.

Blaming the Pakistan Muslim League Chief Nawaz Sharif for losing interest in the case, the minister for defence said that opposition leader left for London after raising the issue. To him, after labeling allegations, there should
be follow up to decide whether the allegations were true.

Commenting on Prime Minister’s contempt of court case, Mukhtar said Gilani had spent many years in jail, and he was not afraid of imprisonment. However, he maintained that Gilani respected judiciary and will appear before the Supreme
Court.

Responding to a query regarding PIA affairs, the Minister for Defence said that he was trying to resolve the issue of the airlines employees.
