Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan has expressed that corruption is the real problem of Pakistan at the moment and one must have strict accountability if the country is to prosper in future.
A number of political analysts in the country feel that the present government of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is the worst in the 64-year-old history of Pakistan. Bad governance and corruption is at its peak throughout the country. There have been a number
of corruption scandals in the country. On top of that, the government has openly refused to obey the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Prime Minister of Pakistan, Yousuf Raza Gillani is currently facing charges of contempt of court and it is likely that he will be convicted on the 13th of February. This situation may cause a political crisis in Pakistan and is dangerous for the
system.
Imran, who is fast growing as one of the most popular political figures of the country, said that the Prime Minister is putting the whole system on stake just the save the corruption of the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, who also happens to be
the co-chairman of PPP.
The cricketer turned politician feels that there is miserable poverty in the country just because of the corrupt politicians.
The Chairman PTI said, “Over 70 million Pakistanis are living under the poverty line because of corruption. The government and its accomplices are responsible for over Rs 8.5 trillion in corruption in the past four year. The whole drama is being played to
hide the theft of one person, [President Asif Ali] Zardari.”
Imran has been demanding that all the politicians must bring their assets back to Pakistan because only then they can work for the betterment of their country. Chairman PTI also slammed Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif and alleged that both PPP and PML (N) are
a part of the unholy alliance.
“How could the politicians having their assets outside the country work for the prosperity of the country. They were united for the Eighteen Amendment and now embraced each other for the Twentieth Amendment,” he added.
