Members Sindh Assembly want BB murder case report publicized
Karachi: (Monday, February 13, 2012) After about four years of the assassination of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, the members provincial assembly Sindh today unanimously adopted a resolution demanding
her murder investigation report to be made public.
The resolution was presented by Ghulam Mujadid Isran, an MPA of Pakistan Peoples’ Party. After the presentation of the resolution, a number of MPA’s mainly from PPP tried to take up the issue on floor for debate, however, Law Minister
Ayaz Soomro was of the view that it was a matter concerning all the assembly members, and thus there was no need to discuss it, upon this, the assembly passed the resolution without objection.
Demanding federal government of publicizing the investigation report into BB’s murder case, the resolution stated: “This Assembly resolves and recommends to the provincial government to approach the Federal Government through Ministry
of Interior, Islamabad to publish the investigation report regarding assassination of Shaheed Mohtarmma Benazir Bhutto and that the report be made public forthwith.”
Besides this resolution, the law minister also laid two ordinances, i) the Land Acquisition Sindh (Amendment) Ordinance, 2012 and the Establishment of the Ombudsman for the Province of Sindh (Amended) ordinance 2012 , which were
taken up by the Speaker Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khoro.
