We stand behind corrupt politicians

The politicians have been looting us for decades and pushing us to a point where we feel like we will explode. The only thing that remains free to us is oxygen, though even that is getting polluted with dangerous gases, courtesy of the absence of policy
by the government to monitor what gets released into the atmosphere.
The country is being sucked dry by the politicians, who feel no shame in stealing from us. While a heavy majority of the nation is already abusing them for their lack of conscience and their lust for power and money, very few realize the actual culprit in
this scenario.
Blaming the politicians is natural, but the people who really deserve the blame are us, the people. We supported democracy, believing that it will be the answer to our troubles and bring our miseries to an end. We had immense faith in our ability to choose
the right person to lead us to a prosperous Pakistan. The right to vote empowered us to a great deal.
Unfortunately, we proved that we did not deserve this sort of power and freedom to choose. Time has showed that every time we step forward to make a choice, it is a wrong one. As much as we like to blame America and believe in Jewish conspiracies, the fact
is nobody elected this government but us. We were the ones who pushed ourselves and many around us in this hell-hole, all because we received a power that we did not know how to harness properly.
We do not use our common sense before casting a vote. How can a leader who lives in a mansion understand the requirements of the people who pretty much live in slum-like conditions? How can that leader know the full-on effect of inflation? The only time
he feels uneasy about inflation is when he plans to get his rupees converted into dollars. How will a leader who never experiences a traffic jam understand what the general public is going through and why measures need to be to make roads wider?
Another thing that we might notice if we look closely enough is the amount of security that these politicians have. These range from trained security to goons. It has indeed become our culture to use power to get things done according to our will. Anyone
who dares to defy us gets a good beating and learns a lesson that he surely doesn’t forget anytime soon. Violation of law is nothing more than a burp in our country. We do not respect laws and neither does our politicians.
The politicians are only doing what we ourselves are doing. They are only there because of us. We voted for them and now we suffer them. No matter how much we complain and blame them, the fact will always remain that we alone are to be blamed for all this.
