Acer Iconia A200 now available at $330
Monday, February 13th, 2012 6:14:42 by Usman KhalidAcer has launched a new tablet, the Iconia A200 that comes with Android Honeycomb operating system. However, the company said that the new tablet will embrace the Ice Cream Sandwich within the next few weeks.
In the stockpile of tablets that have gotten processors from dual-core to quad-core technology, the Iconia does not bring anything new to the table. The tablet is a little thicker than its competitors in the market but is thinner and lighter than its predecessors, A100 and A500.
The A200 is available within the bracket of $300 to $350, depending on the specs, which is pretty much the same albeit the storage capacity. The 8GB tablet is available for $330 and 16GB is all yours for $350.
However, the price factor is ambiguous as it is hard to fathom. Double to capacity is available for only $20 more than the price of the base model. This makes no sense at least to me.
On the other hand, other specifications are not as mesmerizing as Acer would have imagined. The screen, although is capacitive touch screen but has low glamour to the spectators and there is only one camera in the tablet. Guess where it is.
In the front. Yes, there is only one camera and that is in the front, making A200 the only tablet in the contemporary market that misses the most generic feature of today’s mobile devices.
The processor is just powerful to play games like Farmville and if the user wants to play competitive games, the best choice is Need For Speed 2 SE.
The back is only strong selling point in the tablet. It has the most adhesive back cover that is available in the market. However, that is the only thing that is the best in A200. Other than that, it is just another tablet that looks like a pre-Honeycomb slate but is available at a price that is contemporary.
