Amir Khan will lose to Lamont Peterson again says Roger Mayweather

The senior member of Mayweather clan, Roger Mayweather, believes former unified WBA (Super) & IBF light welterweight champion, Amir Khan, will once again get beaten by the current titleholder Lamont Peterson.

Roger, who is also known as the Black Mamba, previously said the same about Khan when he desperately wanted a fight with his nephew Floyd Mayweather junior, who is a five-division world champion and the current WBC welterweight champion.

“He’s going to get his a** whooped again,” Roger told Chris Robinson of the Boxingscene.com about the British star in the midst of another training session with a group of aspiring pugilists. “I told you he was going to get his a** whooped the first time! He’s going to get his a** whipped again.”

The Bolton’s finest, who is more commonly known as King Khan, lost his titles to Peterson last year on December 10 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington. It was a much-anticipated fight but unfortunately it ended up in a storm of controversy as a result to which WBC immediately ordered a rematch between the two.

Khan’s fight with Peterson was a very important one because Khan had plans to move up to the 147 pounds division in order to find him some big fights. However, now when he has lost to Peterson, all eyes are focused on the rematch.

Many out there think Khan’s image will badly get affected badly, if he loses to Peterson again. Nevertheless, Roger has a different point of view.

“No, because he lost to the same guy twice,” Roger continued. “That’s just a part of boxing. Certain guys you can beat and certain guys you can’t beat. Alexis Arguello couldn’t beat Aaron Pryor but they made the fight because that’s the fight that made money. It’s all about making money but at the same time I don’t think Amir Khan will beat him anyways.”

Amir Khan and Lamont Peterson will take on each other on May 19, 2012 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
