Chinese company Huawei released its new handset, the Meizu MX – Part 2
Tuesday, February 14th, 2012 5:36:32 by Usman KhalidWith a 1.4 GHz processor dual-core processor, with an update coming soon to quad-core, and the ability to surf the web with speeds up to 21.6 Mbps, the phone is a startling new innovation from the company. Consumers enjoy the 8 megapixel camera that is accompanied by an LED flash. The camera is an upgrade to the predecessor that had a 5-mega pixel camera.
“It works on Android, which is a big advantage in China,” an analyst told the media. Although the phone is not an alternative to 4S but it can easily replace the older versions of Apple’s smartphone like 3G and 3GS.
The company however, does not enjoy a good reputation in China. Despite making a beautiful piece of hardware, Huawei received a reserved response from the customers. The major reason for such a reaction to the product is quality and reputation of M8, MX’s older brother. However, the company has sorted out a way to lure customers to the new handset. For every faulty piece returned to the company, the customer will receive a rebate of 700 Yuans or a free MP3 player. However, that is very unlikely as Huawei claims that the return backs are going to minimal as best.
To meet the expectations of an already well-established brand in China, Meizu has a clear and simple strategy: “We decided to concentrate on developing only one or two models that are good, although we are aware that the software can still improve a lot.” Meizu offers free updates, and emphasizes the strength of its services. “Unlike other brands, we have an extensive network of establishments to which customers can go and get a repair of their handsets,” a company representative said to the media.
