Dereck Chisora slaps Vitali Klitschko in face at the weigh-in

Former British heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora and the current WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko are set to fight tonight at the Olympiahalle in Munich, Germany. However, when the two met yesterday for their weigh-in, Chisora shocked everyone by slapping Klitschko in the face.

The 6 ft 7 in Ukrainian giant Klitschko, more commonly known as Dr. Ironfist, didn’t retaliate since the two men were pulled apart but he has vowed he will take his revenge in the ring.

“If he wants to fight properly, he must do that with his fists. I’ll be hitting him back tomorrow, in the ring.”

“He hit me not like a boxer but like a woman, with an open hand,” said Klitschko.

Chisora’s slapping Vitali left everyone present at the venue flabbergasted and his outburst has cost him an amount of $50,000 of his purse.

The president of World Boxing Council, Jose Sulaiman, was pretty furious over Chisora for showing an absolute disgrace.

He told boxingscene.com, “This is definitely a lack of respect for the sport and completely unacceptable.

“It was a cheap shot and my message is that there is a fine so he’ll [Chisora] feel it.”

The British challenger, known as Del Boy, will enter the ring tonight as an underdog but he is confident of pulling what will be a huge upset in the history of heavyweight boxing.

The 28-year-old Chisora, who holds a record of winning 15 of his 17 professional fights, with 10 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, claimed he will shock everyone by beating Vitali.

“I will end the Klitschko reign and cause a massive upset,” said the Londoner. “It is the end for Vitali, I promise you.”

Chisora weighed in at 17st 3lbs whereas Klitschko came in at 17st 6lbs.

Chisora’s fine will now be given to charity and this thing will surely hit him bad because now there is no way for him to even get near the purse his promoter Frank Warren would have like. Nevertheless, Chisora has certainly made an impression by slapping Vitali in the face.
