The Devil Inside – One of the worst movies of all time
William Brent Bell’s The Devil Inside is a horror flick which was released on January 6th, 2012 and it received poor and negative reviews from all critics. Simon Quarterman, Evan Helmuth and Suzan Crowley stars in this film and it is produced
by Mathew Peterman and Morris Paulson.
The film was shot in 2010 in several different locations, including Rome, Bucharest and Vatican City. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Steven Schnieder brought the movie to Paramount Insurge, which is Paramount Pictures’ low-budgeted branch.
The 87-minutes movie centres on a woman (starred by Fernanda Andrade) who becomes involved in a series of unauthorized exorcism during her mission to discover what happened to her mother. Her mother killed three people as a result of being possessed by a
demon.
The $1 million budget movie received poor ratings and negative reviews. Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes’ general consensus states, “The Devil Inside is a cheap, choppy unscary mess, featuring one of the worst endings in recent memory.”
IMDB gave it a poor rating of 3.6 out of 10 based on it 5,937 users while Metacritic reported a score of 18 out of 100 based on 18 reviews.
Peter Travers of the Rolling Stone gave it a score of zero out of four and commented, “From the amateur acting, writing and directing to an ending that is shocking only in its stupidity, The Devil Inside will make you puke for all the wrong reasons.”
New York Daily News’ Joe Neumaier was quoted, “It stumbles along to what may arguably be the most abrupt, nonsensical ending since Luis Bunuel stopped slicing cows’ eyes for the sake of surrealism.”
The Devil Inside is a way to pass time with your friends but it’s not the one you would like to see over and over again. The movie hasn’t performed well in the Pakistani Cinemas as well and it was scheduled for only a week here.
