Apple expected to release new Mac OS X within a year of the release of OS X 10.7 Lion – Part 1

Apple, Inc. released the beta version of its new and upcoming Mac OS X Mountain Lion to the developers last week. The Mountain Lion is a progressive upgrade to the Mac OS X 10.7 Lion that was released less than a year ago.

The most amazing part of this new version is that it carries on the culture of inheriting best attributes of iOS, Apple’s operating system dedicated to mobile devices. This trend was set by 2011 version of OS X, as Apple employees refer to the desktop operating system.

The main reason for the amalgamation of the two operating systems is to make the users feel comfortable using desktops and laptops with Mac after a lengthy and inadvertent use of iOS devices. In the last few years, Apple users have shifted to its mobile devices like iPhones and iPads. Recent statistics reports show that Mac devices have seen a huge plunge in the last two or three years.

Therefore, the right course of action for Apple in the future would be to merge both OS; and adaptations are just the start.

According to many experts around the world, the technology market has passed on from the desktop culture to a stronger trend of tablets and other mobile computing devices like smartphones, which is normally called post-desktop culture.

Apple, in an effort to address the increasing dependence on mobile devices, has incorporated many of iOS features like Notifications Center and Messages to the Mountain Lion, to make the users feel at home when switching from their mobile devices to desktops for more intensive working. However, the new version has kept the pedigree of desktop-ness intact while adding more interactive features to the OS.
