Apple expected to release new Mac OS X within a year of the release of OS X 10.7 Lion – Part 2

In addition to being interactive, the mobile operating systems like iOS and Android are also very easy to use. In recent surveys, many users have confessed that they are using mobile slate devices properly even they are a far cry from being tech-savvy.
Another reason for Apple’s release of OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion—probably the most important one—is the expected release of Windows 8 from Microsoft. The company announced at the Consumer Electronic Show 2012 at Las Vegas that Win 8 will be released in the latter half of calendar 2012.
The main feature of the new Windows operating system is its Metro interface that is mainly targeted at tablets. Since Android has failed to capture tablet market, iOS is in monopoly and Microsoft sees a window of opportunity to gouge a chunk of the segment that was created by Apple in 2010.
Due to threatening release of Windows 8 this year, Apple finds itself in a position to hurry things up to make certain MS does not take any advantage.
Some of the main applications that have been introduced in any Mac for the first time are Messages, Notifications Center, Game Center, AirPlay Mirroring, Reminders and Notes.
Messages is the standalone desktop version of iOS app called iMessages but it functions seamlessly with every other Mac and iOS device via iCloud.
The most important of all of them and centre of Apple’s attention is Notifications Center that has also been assigned a two-finger gesture.
Other features like Notes, Reminders and Mirroring can also be found on iOS devices.
Apple has also increased the security on Mac by introducing a three-level system for installation of new software. Although the user can install any application despite the security settings, the warnings will turn active upon a single iota of a malware activity.
Macs and iOS devices have always been secure and seamless in functions but more interaction with the software will surely be an added advantage in luring and sustaining more customers to the new OS.
