Apple released the beta version of its new desktop operating system Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion – Part 3

New style of pop ups have also been included in this new version like notifications of updates pop up in separate windows that only goes away when the user clicks on them.

Apple’s new concept of Centers has also embraced Game Center, that is a single platform to access any game that has been installed on the OS. However, it only launches the games but also supports interaction between different players playing the same game and also shows the leader boards.

Another application that has been inherited from iOS 5 is the search spot called Finder that is completely integrated with iCloud. This new applications lets the user access the data that has been downloaded on Mountain Lion and other iOS devices by accessing through iCloud.

Two other iOS features to make it into Mountain Lion center on sharing. The first of those is something Apple calls Share Sheets. If you’ve ever used the built-in Twitter features in iOS 5, the idea here is the same. Apple’s added a button to share whatever content you’re looking at in applications like Safari, Preview, and iPhoto to other apps and Web services–including Twitter, which users can now post to without having Twitter’s Mac OS app installed.

However, this feature does not support sharing content on Facebook or You Tube. Mac’s media player QuickTime has this feature; it shares the video content on both You Tube and Facebook.

The other sharing addition is screen sharing in the form of AirPlay Mirroring. This is the feature that can take whatever’s on your screen and beam it to an Apple TV. It’s been a feature on the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S, with Apple now adding it as a drop-down menu option in Mountain Lion. It outputs whatever is on screen in a 720p video stream to an Apple TV unit on the same Wi-Fi network. Apple’s also planning an update to its iTunes software that will be able to spit out video content directly to Apple TV units from your computer.
