Islamabad: (Tuesday, February 21, 2012) The Supreme Court of Pakistan was informed today that the bill for 20th Constitutional amendment was successfully passed in the two houses and it was forwarded to the president
for final approval.
Advocate Naseer Bhutta, who also happens to be an active member of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz in the national legislature, informed the three-member apex court bench today which resumed hearing of the case regarding suspension
of membership of 28 parliamentarians who were elected in by-polls after the passage of 18th Constitutional Amendment.
Bhutta told the honourable judges that after earning approval from the President, the bill will be presented before the court.
The bench, however, insisted upon restoring the 28 suspended lawmakers after the 20th amendment bill is approved by the president.
The court was adjourned for further proceeding to resume on February 29.
