However, this time around, they could not sneak out with an attractive commodity. The iPhone 4—released in 2010—was succeeded 4S, that was mostly a disappointment in the start due to the reason that many were expecting a robust and revamped iPhone 5.

However, despite the criticism it 2011 edition managed to capture a substantial part of the market.

There were three reasons for such response, although belated but a response nonetheless. The first major reason was the operating system. Apple, as always, introduced the latest version of iOS, iOS 5, in the iPhone 4S. Among other updates were iCloud, Reminders, Notifications Center and iMessages, the latter one received a huge reception because of the freedom to send unlimited messages to friends and family who have an iOS device, literally without any fee or charges.

The second main reason was the camera. iPhone 4 was released with a 5 mega-pixel camera that could capture video in 720p resolution. However, the new handset came with an 8 mega-pixel camera, with capabilities to capture 1080p resolution video.

Although it seems that the aforementioned specifications are already heard of in the market, the shock absorption capabilities and bigger aperture with the inclusion of five lenses made the phone first choice for those who take interest in photography.

The third main reason, and by far the most attractive one, was virtual assistant called Siri that really assists the user with practically every everyday life activity. However, to date the Siri is only available in iPhone 4S, whereas the iOS 5 update is available on any mobile device from Apple.

4. HP Folio 13

There was virtually a stampede by the ultrabooks at the Consumer Electronic Show 2012. Among the host of companies with the likes of Asus, Acer, Dell Toshiba, HP stood out with HP Folio 13.

This 13-inch laptop is one of the first ultrabooks from HP. However, its looks and sheer size make it even more attractive to people.
