PTCL half-year earnings stand at Rs2.84 billion

Wednesday, February 23, 2012: PTCL (Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited) has issues its bi-annually financial results. The companies’ half-year earnings, for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2012 stand at Rs2.84 billion.

Walid Irshaid, Cheif Operating Officer and President of PTCL, after conducting a meeting with companies’ board of directors held a press conference. The CEO was content with the company’s performance in first half of the year and
said that it is a living proof how the company is accomplishing its goals while delivering satisfaction to its customers and giving its shareholders their due share in shape of dividends.

In the conference he said, “PTCL’s revenue growth during first half of FY2011-12 is a strong indicator of our dynamic corporate direction as well as our customers’ continued satisfaction and trust.”

Irshaid continued, “Through optimal use of resource, we want to achieve enhanced revenue, greater levels of customer satisfaction, as well as improve our shareholders’ value.”

The net revenue of Rs28.1 billion shows the company has attained a growth of 7% when compared with the figures of previous financial year.

PTCL has added different products to its product line. In 2011, PTCL also launched a tablet with built-in EVO Wireless Broadband. The service is currently available in more than 100 cities of Pakistan, the 7-inch touch screen tablet,
which is powered by Google Android Froyo 2.2 offers uninterrupted wireless broadband Internet connectivity on the go.

Irshaid, while recounting the successes of PTCL’s most recent business offerings said, “We are constantly innovating and improving our customer experience. We strongly believe that PTCL will remain the market leader and a service
provider of choice throughout Pakistan for providing cutting-edge integrated telecom solutions to our customers.”

Pakistan is going through economic depression but despite the slum PTCL managed to earn a profit which is an encouraging sign for the economy. The company was declared the leading operator in Pakistan by PTA’s 2011 Quality of Service
survey for providing the highest quality Broadband Internet service to consumers.
