China dominates diving events at the 2012 FINA Visa Diving World Cup

The Chinese divers have continued their supremacy on the third day of the continued 18th Federation Internationale de Natation Amateur (FINA) Visa Diving World Cup, taking place in Aquatics Centre, Olympic Park in London.

The FINA Diving World Cup is of utmost importance as it offers a chance to elite divers to find out their weaknesses before the forthcoming 2012 London Olympic Games.

Four events have been concluded so far and the Chinese have not faced defeat in any single event. Unbelievably, the Chinese have scored gold medals in two synchronised diving events while they occupied top two positions in the individual disciplines.

The Chinese duo of Qin Kai and Luo Yutong captured first gold medal for their country as they excelled in Men’s Synchronised 3m Springboard by scoring 445.71 points.

Subsequently, Chen Ruolin of China earned top spot in the Women’s 10m Platform by accomplishing a total of 405.25 points. Her teammate, Hu Yadan remained slightly behind her and achieved silver medal of the event with a score of 397.10 points.

On second day of the championship, Olympic gold medallist, He Chong dominated Men’s 3m Springboard as he obtained 553.35 points. Kai followed him on the podium for silver medal of the 3m discipline as he notched up 524.00 points.

On third day of the World Cup, Ruolin paired up with Wang Hao and upset her competitors by pocketing gold medal of the Women’s Synchronised 10m Platform. The pair faced no trouble from their challengers and stepped on the victory stand for the title by scoring
359.58 points.

With their fascinating form in all completed events, the Chinese divers are expected to continue their thrilling form and dominate remaining events. Furthermore, the event seemed to be a one-sided tournament as no other player has succeeded in giving tough
time to a Chinese diver in any discipline.

In addition, the World Cup is a seven-day event and will conclude on February 26 after the completion of all scheduled events. It would be interesting to see what comes up in the remaining events of the championship.
