Kareena Kapoor – The highest paid Bollywood actress

Bollywood’s ultimate diva, Kareena Kapoor, recently emerged as the ETC’s ‘Most Profitable Actress’ at the Bollywood Business Awards 2011. The Indian box office has earned an amount of over 200 crore due to her contributions in the past couple of years. Therefore, in the list of Bollywood’s highest paid actresses, she wears the crown!

Kareena Kapoor will be seen playing a lead role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s forthcoming film ‘Heroine’, which is scheduled to hit the cinemas on September 14, 2012. However, as per the reports, Kareena has been paid close to Rs. 8 crore for the film, which is the highest that has ever been paid to any female lead in the history of Bollywood.

Madhur Bhandarkar while taking to the media commended Kareena for her work.

Bhandarkar, “Working with Kareena is a dream come true. She was always my first choice.”

In the meantime, many acclaimed critics of the Bollywood industry have also confirmed the fact that Kareena has no comparisons in the industry at this point in time.

A famous B-town critic Taran Adarsh said, “Kareena is the only actress to enjoy the privilege of being in the 100 crore club – She has the looks and talent and the box office is also backing her. She is going to break her own record with her films to come”

Another big name when it comes to the critics is Amod Mehra and he thinks the same as well. Mehra insisted currently Kareena is like the Amitabh Bachchan of the industry.

Mehra said, “There is no competition to Kareena Kapoor – Talking about numbers and standings in the industry, she is the entire 1-10 margin .She is the Amitabh Bachchan of her time ,there were constant comparisons with her contemporaries but with her recent films she is here to prove she is her only competition”.

Well, apart from all the above mentioned things, Kareena, who has recently been immortalized in wax at the prestigious Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, is also the first actress to join the much coveted 100 crore club.

Kareena Kapoor will now be on the big screen in ‘Agent Vinod’ in which she has played a lead role opposite to her beau Saif Ali Khan.
