Pakistan’s skipper Misbah-ul-Haq has urged the nation not to overreact after the team’s One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 series loss to England in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Men in Green got off to a brilliant start against England in the Test series, winning it by 3-0. Many expected the hosts to struggle against the number one side, but they proved all of them wrong.
Misbah was pleased following his side’s success in the longest version of the game and hoped to carry onto the momentum in 50-over cricket as well. However, England bounced back strongly in the four match ODI series, winning it 4-0.
This put Pakistan under immense pressure ahead of the three match T20 series, as the tourists looked much better in limited-over cricket.
Despite losing the momentum in the ODIs’, Pakistan bounced back in the opening T20, winning it by eight runs. However, there was another twist in the tale, as England managed to win the final two games of the series, finishing their tour on a high.
Although the ODI and T20 series defeats were the first ever failures for Misbah, he faced severe criticism from all parts of the country and people demanded wholesome changes.
However, Misbah said, "All those who watch are sentimental and they talk like this. You analyse by sitting down and if you have a replacement for a player then you replace him. Drastic changes will not help. I think we did try our best but England
came back strongly in the last three overs. Credit must be given to them. I think we are responsible."
He went onto say, "
We should have finished the match but we had no answer to their good bowling. Stuart Broad gave just four runs in the penultimate over while Jade Dernbach successfully defended 13 in the last. We were in the game until the last three overs… and we had wickets
in hand. But we couldn’t finish it. That hurts."
Pakistan will now head to Bangladesh for the Asia Cup, which will feature India and Sri Lanka other than the hosts.

Misbah ko just test ma rakha jay t20 and ODI ma to is player ke jaga b nai honi chahiay or kamran akmal ko team captain bnaya jay\
A professional player is supposed to perform for he is being paid for it BUT that doesn’t necessarily means that a pro is some super-hero, mutant that can outstretch and be a hero all the time.
Having worked and lived in Pakistan for a little time, I can tell that people there are uber-emotional not wanting to treat a game as a game or players as just-another-normal-human-being. But then it’s not just Pakistan, it’s the neighboring countries like India, and even countries like UK where the media thrashes their own and the visiting team by faux allegations and detested remarks which is UNFAIR!
However, to play irresponsibly is a totally different ball-game. Very easy for Misbah to admit that they should have played more responsibly and by passing statements like “I think we are responsible” shows the lack of confidence and interest of a skipper. Not motivating at all. They have a responsibility to carry off their shoulders when they bearing a flag of their country walk into the grounds; their efforts and demeanor counts no matter they win or loose.
