Muhammad Asif, Shahid Aftab and Muhammad Sajjad shine at 37th National Snooker Championship

Trio of Muhammad Asif, Shahid Aftab and Muhammad Sajjad showed their class in their respective second round matches of 2012 Jubilee Insurance 37th National Snooker Championship. The potters
ousted Abdul Raziq, Javed Ansari and Farhan Khan in the second round to move forward in the tournament.

Asif registered commanding second successive victory against Abdul Raziq at the Karachi Gymkhana Billiards Hall arena. Punjab’s Asif gave no chance to Abdul to settle in the game and nudged
him down easily by the score line of 4-0. This whitewash victory will play an important role in boosting Asif’s confidence in the upcoming snooker matches because the tournament is getting tougher with each passing day.

Defending champion, Shahid Aftab of Punjab, was also impressive against the Sindhi potter Javed Ansari. Shahid cruised into the game lead winning the first frame and ensured his victory
by triumphing in the next three. Ansari was not able to perform according to the requirements and slipped four frames down easily. During his second round run, Aftab compiled a brilliant knock of 81 points in the third frame of the match. The overall score
line of the game was; 49-46, 56-26, 104(81)-25, 69-48.

Former Natonal Snooker Champion and former Pakistan Number one, Muhammad Sajjad showed his class in his second-round match against Farhan Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The former champion
ousted his opponent with a brilliant score line of 4-0. The current Pakistan Number five pocketed a superb knock of 97 in the first round to totally unnerve his opponent. The overall score line of the match was 120-0, 65-30, 88-17, 72-15.
