After an epic comeback from 2-0 down to level the terms with Tottenham Hotspur, the Gunners went berserk in the second half at the Emirates Stadium.
Goals from Bacary Sagna and Robin van Persie not only squared the scores by 2-2 but also helped Arsenal to regain their confidence and momentum in the later half.
After just six minutes from the start of the second half, Tomas Rosicky flicked a cross over Brad Friedel, ultimately taking Arsenal 3-2 up in this most important match for the Gunners. Their possession and confidence was getting better and better and the
Red Army unleashed flurry of attacks at their arch rivals.
At 65-minutes, hosts made a superb counter-attack after the Dutch held the Tottenham defence, passing the ball to Theo Walcott. The British youngster dinked the ball over their rival’s goal keeper, eventually extending arsenal lead by 4-2. Three minutes
later, the high flying youngster scored his 23rd Premier League goal for his side and took Arsenal 5-2 up.
The high spirited Gunners lifted their game and dominated after the first five minutes from the start of the match. The 22-year-old Walcott stole the show as his double capped a spectacular derby win for the Gunners.
Parker on the other side was the worst player on the field, displaying dismal performance throughout his spell and subsequently receiving a red card.
All in all, the home side conquered the North London derby, securing a fourth place at the Premier League Rankings. They are now looking forward to bounce back against the Italian Champions, AC Milan, at the last 16 round of the UEFA Champions League.
Spurs on the other hand fell behind the leaders, Manchester City, by 10 points and endured fatal blow for their little chances of grabbing the title.
