Mohsin Khan disappointed over limited-over loss to England

Pakistan cricket team coach Mohsin Hasan Khan was disappointed after losing the One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 series against England in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

"I am disappointed with the performance," Mohsin told reporters on his arrival in Karachi. "We played so well throughout the Test series and beat the world No.1 team. I am surprised at the team’s performance in the limited-overs matches but every target
against England was achievable."

Batting was the main problem for Pakistan, as the team was unable to cope up with the quality seam bowling of the opposition. No batsman managed to score a century in the 50-over format, which resulted in a whitewash series defeat.

On the other hand, England were superb in all three departments of the game. They managed to score big runs, courtesy centuries from Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen. Other than that, the bowlers never allowed the opposition to settle down and the
fielders also backed them throughout the series.

The Men in Green displayed some maturity in the T20 format, but still failed to win the series. They managed to win the first match, in which they batted first, but were unable to chase down targets in the following two games.

Mohsin failed to understand the reason behind his side’s loss in the limited-over leg. He said, "

I am ready to serve my country, but my top priority is that it should be in a respected manner and with dignity, without which I will not hold any post. Winning against England in the Tests was special but in limited-over series we
lost due to the poor batting and I am disappointed that the team failed (in ODIs and Twenty20s). But this is the same team that was being lauded only a few days back and now everyone is so critical and talking about inducting new blood, which is again strange."

Although the Pakistan coach was unable to understand the reason behind his team’s poor show aganist England, he did not have any confusions over the side’s rise in the past one and a half year.

When asked about the secret of Pakistan’s success, Mohsin replied, in hidden words, that his charisma helped the team win in 2011.
