Hrithik Roshan defends homosexuality
Wednesday, February 29th, 2012 5:40:19 by Imran Shaukat KhanBollywood superstar, Hrithik Roshan, is normally known best for his looks and dancing skills but the handsome actor is a gay icon as well. Recently, the home ministry in India attracted a lot of media when it called gay sex ‘immoral’ and ‘against social order’. The ministry is even seeking a fresh ban on it but Hrithik has come out in support to the gay community, as the actor believes being homosexual is neither a crime nor a choice.
The actor insisted, “It’s taken us hundreds of years to evolve as a society and realise how ridiculous and preposterous discrimination against race/caste is. How many more years is it going to take us to be mature enough and learn to accept individual sexual inclination? Perhaps the starting point is to understand that homosexuality is NOT a matter of choice.”
Hrithik believes homosexuality is a part of one’s genetic characteristics. The superstar stated some of the most artistic, creative, genius and gifted minds in this world are also homosexual and the main reason behind their success is freedom.
The 38-year-old actor, who has given Bollywood industry some of the biggest blockbusters, revealed he also faced much criticism during his childhood for having a double thumb, which is certainly not fair at all.
He added, “It’s ridiculous that there are people trying to stop it from spreading! God has made us same, but different. I was discriminated against for a simple thing like a double thumb, which made me feel like an outcast throughout my childhood. How unwanted is that? It is a form of the same madness and it needs to stop.”
Hrithik Roshan certainly has a point here but let us see if PP Malhotra, who said gay sex is highly immoral, responds to him.
The ‘Agneepath’ hero is looking forward to his forthcoming superhero science fiction film ‘Krrish 2’, which is a sequel to the 2006 hit film ‘Krrish’. The film will feature Hrithik in a lead role opposite to former Miss. World Priyanka Chopra. Meanwhile, the likes of Vivek Oberoi and Riya Sen will also be seen in the much-anticipated movie.
