7. Atif Bashir
The ‘Bulldozer’ as he is more affectionately known to Pakistan faithful, Berlin-born Atif Bashir has become a resounding success at International level with the Green-Shirts.
A brute of a defender, the 26-year-old is currently plying his trade with Barry Town in the Welsh first division and is constantly looking at opportunities to step up his game. He also plays for the University of Glamorgan on a full football scholarship
and is seen as one of the undoubted stars of the National team.
6. Yousuf Butt
The talented shot-stopper made his Pakistan debut under Tariq Lutfi last year and while the tactician wasn’t convinced by his abilities, many sources rate Yousuf as the finest goal keeper the country has had to date.
Playing for BK Glostrup Albertslund in Denmark, the youngster has a lot of time to mature into a top quality glove man and perhaps challenge Jaffar Khan for a place in the starting eleven.
5. Adnan Ahmed
Famous for graduating from the Manchester United academy, Adnan is no longer plying his trade professionally due to family reasons, but is still seen as a starter for the National team, having recently featured for them in the 2011 SAFF Cup.
A midfielder with an array of passing and ball skills, he is perhaps the most creative player at Zavisa Milosavljevic’s disposal and is sure to continue his International development under the Serbian’s tutelage.
