Friday, March 2nd, 2012 5:45:05 by Farasat AliThe new privacy policy of Google which came into force on 1st March and on which the European Union has opened an information package, is retroactive, meaning that even if it applies from
Thursday includes all previous data.
The new policy is essential to possess all the data that Google have about a specific person. In other words, Google will have access to the data from your browser and also from other services such as Gmail email
accounts, your social network or Google + YouTube video library.
As with any change in privacy, the companies that make them, whether they are Facebook, Apple and Google, agree that this could lead to improvement for the user. However, some consortiums say it’s affecting the rights of
people on the internet.
In these cases the most active are the Electronic Frontier Foundation, which explained in detail on its website how to delete the historical data, both on Google and YouTube.
To remove the personal history you should go to Google and search for Web history, or go directly to this page. Having identified your Gmail mail account and given the option to "remove" or delete
a link or more, the activity per day or as desired.
There is also a button that is directly applicable to the automatic deletion of all the history. The user need to follow the same procedure with regards to the YouTube account and if they want to delete their
historical videos viewed or issued.
"However, following industry practice and in accordance with the principles of the Privacy Policy, Google maintains a separate record system designed to audit tasks and improving the quality of services offered to users."
Google warned.
The new privacy policy of Google is, as stated by the company, simply a crossing of the data of the various services that a person had. Nevertheless, the European Union can become a major obstacle in their new policy for
violating the right of citizens.
