International cricket to be resumed in Pakistan

While addressing a news conference along with Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik in Islamabad, Mustafa Kamal said both the countries enjoy cordial relationships with each other, praising the role of Pakistan for Bangladesh in the International Cricket Council (ICC).
President Bangladesh Cricket Board along with an eight-member delegation is currently visiting Pakistan to inspect the security situation in the country for the proposed bilateral series, hoping that the issues would move forward positively.
The Bangladeshi leader invited Rehman Malik and PCB chief Zaka Ashraf to visit his country. Rehman Malik, at the same time, assured that the Bangladeshi team would be provided with foolproof security everywhere and an effective strategy would be planned according to their desires.
Due to security reasons, Bangladesh’s cricket coach, Stuart Law, has refused to visit Pakistan for a proposed one-day series because of security frights. Stuart, according to the reports, told Bangladesh’s cricket board that he will not be available for the tour of Pakistan.
In the meantime, Pakistani authorities are anticipating convincing Bangladesh’s security experts over the next couple of days that it was safe for them to send their cricket team here for a series that will hint the return of international cricket in Pakistan.
On Friday, a nine-member team from Bangladesh arrived in Pakistan to inspect venues ahead of the proposed trip of Bangladesh’s national team to play a bilateral series of one-day matches in Pakistan.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Zakar Ashraf and other senior Board officials held a series of meetings with top government officials prior to the today’s meetings with the Bangladeshi delegation.
The Bangladeshi officials compromising Bangladesh Cricket Board officials and security experts after spending a day in Pakistani capital will move for Lahore to inspect the city.
Pakistan Cricket Board is hoping that the Bangladeshi officials will clear the visit of their national team to Pakistan, which has not hosted international cricket since Sri Lankan players were ambushed by gunmen in Lahore three years back.
Zaka Ashraf observed, “We are confident that after reviewing our security plans, they (Bangladesh) will confirm their team’s visit”.
