The changing of the seasons and the dangers that come with it
Sunday, March 4th, 2012 7:33:18 by Musa AfridiWith winter giving way to a short spring and long summer, it is important that everyone take a few precautions so as not to fall ill in what peak ‘picnic’ season.
The chilly nights of winter may still be hanging in there, giving us a few more days of tucking ourselves in warm blankets at night or wearing those cosy sweaters before they are packed away, yet as the days grow warmer no one can deny the fact that very
soon all that will end.
The weather at the moment is confused and if the reader does not understand exactly what is going on they will end up like me, working on a Sunday night because he could not come in to work earlier because he had flew.
So in order to help my fellow beings, I decided to take this moment to share a few tips on how to beat the flu and other such illnesses that will begin sweeping the general population.
Firstly, it is important to remember to dress warmly. Yes, the days may not require you to wear a sweater or a light jacket, but keep one handy if you expect to be outdoors in the evening. You’ll thank me later.
Also, if anyone is playing any sports or jogging in the evenings, keep a sweatshirt or a jacket as well, because sweat and cold make for a deadly combination.
It may be a good idea to open the windows in the evening to let some of that cool fresh air in, but it is best to close the windows at night for two reasons:
The first reason is because it will, like it did today, rain and secondly because that cool breeze will become even cooler as the night wears on and will leave you trapped in your blanket, unable to get out to close the window once it does.
That may just be my own personal case but I’m sure that I’m not the only one who has that problem.
All in all, it would be wise to be ready for the eminent bout of flu that is sure to spread, as it always does when the seasons change.
