Apple sends invites to developers for a March 7 event; new iPad may be ready to enter the ring – Part 1
Monday, March 5th, 2012 3:17:44 by Usman KhalidAfter much speculation, the alleged release of the new iPad is near us all. Apple, Inc., the manufacturers of the tablet, have announced and sent invites to developers for an event on March 7, where they are expected to raise curtains on the new generation of the iPad.
Many speculate that the company is going to unleash the overhauled, newer version of the tablet, named iPad 3. Some even uproot the rumour to such an extent that the new slate is going to the be released in three denominations, WiFi only, 3G and 4G. Retina display is another expected upgrade in the device as iPad remains the only the mobile computer that lacks such resolution.
That being said, in my personal opinion I think the company is going to announce an upgraded version of the device, the iPad 2S. Call it a hunch, but that is my opinion. I just cannot put my finger on it but all the omens point to an S version, more like iPhone 4S.
During the last calendar quarter of 2011, the rumour mill rolled out a news that the company might dissect the release of its flagship product. The first one will arrive at its regular time, March, and the second will hit the stores sometime in the second half of calendar 2012. Now, I believe this rumour, and according to it, there is less supportive element to an entirely new device in March.
The inclusion of 4G into the fold is a far cry to me, as the US market has not exploited the full use of 3G and is ramming to the new technology that has relatively less productivity in terms of usage on mobile devices. And Apple seems to understand it. However, on the other hand, iPad might be the best platform to take to the new LTE technology.
