Pakistani actors making big in Bollywood but at what cost?

Pakistani artists, musicians, actors, models and song-writers are being regarded as a pride for Pakistan due to the love that the Bollywood industry as well as the Indian public is showering them with.
While most of our television and film stars would sell their souls, or shed their clothes as was seen in the case of Veena Malik, others did not have to stoop down to cheap antics and instead managed to get recognition in the biggest film industry of the world
through their talent and commitment alone.
While majority of the Pakistani public is stunned by their, let’s just say above-average success in the Bollywood industry, I for one find it hard to get impressed.
I find their success rather unimpressive primarily because of their willingness to compromise their moral and religious conscience to get acceptance in the Indian public.
Under normal circumstances, I would have found the increasing popularity of the Pakistani talent in India quite moving. However, considering the fact that they more often than naught have to commit actions that are not aligned with their religious principles is somewhat disturbing and disappointing.
While many would accuse me of carrying double standards as I am seemingly alright with the non-Muslims going over-board while chasing fame and getting their talent recognized while raising my eye-brow when a Muslim does it, I would like to point out that living in a society where we have been taught
morality and decency since the very first day by our parents, it is disturbing to find someone from amongst us shedding his inhibitions and forgetting the principles of Islam.
While watching Bollywood or Hollywood films has pretty much become a part of our culture despite its incompatibility with our religion, the Pakistan society is still well away from losing their moral conscience.
Unfortunately, our talent is willing to wave goodbye to the very religion and society that define them to find fame. An actor/artist is not just an entertainer as many claim. Claiming that stepping over the moral boundaries during the line of profession is acceptable is a rather absurd argument. If that was the case, why is Veena Malik considered a disgrace to Pakistan when all she did was pose for a magazine as a model, a professional model?

It ia quite funny. Why we are so possessive about religion when it comes to entertainment industry?what is happening in politics, sports even in religious matter in PAKISTAN? Women dead bodies are raped in grave, people are eating human flash. If you have anything to say then say about situation in Pakistan. Infact after reading this article I conclude that you have nothing to say, you just want to fill space of a tabloid. buzz off
completely agree with the above comment. well said
The hypocrisy in this article makes me sick. Get a life and stop grudging the extremely talented Pakistanis who are struggling to make it in India and other places. It takes true grit to make it big outside your comfort zone, in a foreign country..whether its entertainment, business or technology. Please do not impose your values on others and judge them. Our religion does not allow us to judge our fellow muslims and neither should you.
