Samsung ES8000: A full preview of the 2012 model – Part 3

The motion gesture feature can be used simultaneously. To instigate, the user has to wave at the television and a cursor will appear on the screen. The motion of the cursor then corresponds wit the motion of the hand. it can be moved to any part of screen. For clicking, the user only has to clinch a fist.

Anti-clockwise circle of the hand takes the browser to the last opened web page. The user can also say ‘Back’ or ‘Forward’ to navigate through the pages.

Another feature of the ES8000 is its face recognition software. The camera on the top border, can be used for facial recognition. This feature is useful when the user wants to create a profile on the television.

The separate profile gives the prime owner of the account access to his Facebook account, twitter account, You Tube channels, emails and whatnots.

By saying Hi TV, the camera kicks off and the user can set-up a new account by capturing his/her own picture. The recognition software uses the saved picture to let the user to log in to his/her account upon request afterwards.

The user can set priorities and parental controls for the kids. Moreover, the account can be accessed remotely, depending on the account settings, to access the ongoing activities on the device. The red light, adjacent to camera, turns on to show the viewer that the television is being accessed remotely.

Samsung ships an IR blaster with the television that sends the voice commands from the television to peripherals like Blu-Ray player and DVR box to control their feature.

The Family Story app works as a social network on a very small scale that may include your close relatives or family members in other parts of the city, country or world.
