Missing Persons: PML-N submits resolution in National Assembly

Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) here today submitted a resolution in the National Assembly on missing persons matter.

According to the details, the resolution proposed the formation of a high-level committee comprising of eight legislators from both the houses to probe into the issue.

The resolution stated, “The committee should be formed after consultation between the speaker national assembly, prime minister and the leader of the oppositions.”

The proposed committee will be asked to submit its findings in two-month time and will hold meetings with families of the missing persons and the officials of the security forces.

The resolution also raised the need for making new laws to determine the role of security agencies and also expressed concerns over the bad name earned by the security agencies in the country and abroad over the human rights violations.
