Osama entered Pakistan illegally; Minister for Interior
Islamabad: (Thursday, March 08, 2012) Federal Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik said today that former Al-Qaeda chief; Osama bin Laden had entered Pakistan illegally. He said the cases had been filed for entering the country
without prior permission and his family would be presented in the court.
However, Malik maintained that no cases were filed against children of bin Laden and they were free to return to their country.
Elaborating the status of deceased Al-Qaeda leader’s family, Malik said that they were on judicial remand and the house they were currently being kept in was declared as a sub-jail.
Osama was killed during a covert operation conducted by US raid on his compound in Abbottabad in May last year. The raid, which triggered anguish among the masses in Pakistan, culminated in the formation of a judicial commission.
The commission is still probing the events that took place that day.
