However, it’s not only HP who does that, almost every other technology giant tows the same line.
The new HP Omni 27 is another of HP’s attempts to conquer the world of technology with their devices. However, that is a pinnacle hard for any non-Apple to attain. The all-in-one Windows-based PC is an attempt to gauge the market share from Apple that it has claimed with its iMac series over the years.
However, the pros and cons that the new computer has, the attempt might earn the company a little from its Windows counterparts, let alone iMac.
At $1199, the computer is cheaper than Apple product but is expensive that its foes like Dell, Lenovo and Sony.
One of the best things of the new all-in-one desktop is its big 27-inch screen, and that’s about it. The price is high for a Windows desktop, specs are average at best and there are no touch-screen capabilities that its competitors, and its predecessors for that matter, have been thriving on.
Omni 27 doesn’t match Apple’s highest-end iMac in display resolution, but for anyone interested in using a Windows all-in-one as an entertainment hub, you will immediately appreciate the benefits of the Omni 27’s large 1,920×1,080-pixel screen.
With Windows 8 and other 27-inch all-in-ones on the horizon, you might be wise to put off any new PC purchase. Also consider that HP is asking $1,249 for the Omni 27, a rather high premium given the middling components surrounding its display.
If anyone wants to own an all-in-one PC and can afford to wait for a while, the best advice is to wait. There is a slew of new desktops coming from the likes of Lenovo, Sony and Samsung in the latter part of the year, as per the conferences at Consumer Electronics Show 2012, Las Vegas.
