Roy Sullivan was born in a small town in Virginia in 1912. It did not take him long to received his first lightning bolt as he was struck at a tender age. While he was in the field working with his father, he received a thunderbolt struck the sickle used
to harvest wheat. This time there was nothing serious that happened to him.
In 1942, Sullivan worked as a ranger in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Being in the watchtower, a thunderstorm broke and Roy received a lightning entered his leg and out the big toe of his foot.
After a couple of decades off, in 1969, while driving his convertible truck, another ray of lightning struck him in the head and made him lose consciousness and have an accident, although it was not too serious. From here on, this was not to stop.
A year later, in 1970, when he was at the door of his home, he was again hit by another ray that caused burns on his shoulder.
In 1972, while working in the office of the Rangers, a bolt entered through a window and literally thwarted out all of his hair.
Still the hair had not grown at all and, again, in 1973 another blast hit him again while driving and burned all the hair. This time Roy was prepared and was able to extinguish the fire with water from a bottle he got used to carry around just in case.
Another ray, again, fell on him while he was walking in the countryside with his wife in 1974, when the storm began to form, Roy ran to rid his wife of impact. In this case, the lightning struck one of his ankles.
Finally, in 1977, while he was fishing in a lake, another lightning hit on it and in this case, he had to be hospitalized with serious burns on his chest, stomach and legs.
Roy Sullivan fell into a terrible depression. In the place known as "lightning man" and, of course, no one would be too close to this man so electrifying.
When his wife finally got away from him, Roy ended up committing suicide with his own service weapon in 1983.
