What’s about Balochistan (Part Two)
Monday, March 12th, 2012 4:38:53 by Faisal FarooqWe are unaware of an ongoing silent war in Balochistan resulting in a daily death toll which is not reported as fervently as it should be.
Unfortunately, more than 85% population of the province does not have access to clean drinking water and other basic necessities.
No one from the government side or the private sector bothers to invest in the educational projects. A specific part of budget is allocated for educational programs but only on papers. The prevailing feudal culture and civil and military bureaucracy consumes most of these allocations.
In Pakistan, it is quite easy to blame everything on RAW and CIA, but these entities are not forcing the rest of Pakistan to turn a blind eye towards what is happening in the region. It is specifically on our heads.
In the first step, we must accept the reality that there is a certain degree of hate among Baloch people for rest of the country, particularly for Punjab. The reason is that they are entitled to have for deprivation of so many basic necessities.
In the very next step, we should show them our seriousness in resolving their problems. The gap between the provinces will keep intensifying unless we do not make efforts on an individual level for trying to know their miseries and grieves.
The foreign interventions will continue to occur if we do not take the necessary steps in providing exposures to Baloch people.
The very reason is that most of people residing in the region have not longer belief in the rest of the country. At the same time, they are not expecting something good from other regions.
Our continued negligence towards their problems is the failures which will drive Balochistan away from rest of the country.
We can only part of the solution if we acknowledge problematic scenario of the province. The best possible solution is to bring a change in the policy making that will help in ending feudal monopoly over Balochistan and create opportunities for development in the area.
