ISBN charges 45 Euros to register an e-book

Registration of your book at the Federation of Publishers Guilds costs big money but if you want to register in various electronic formats it will only cost 45 Euros. It will not take more than one week to register but if you want
to go a bit faster, you must pay a few Euros more. This is what happens in the office of the ISBN.

Ministry of Culture’s Office of ISBN, International Standard Book Number, which is the international standard identifier for books intended for commercial use in Spain until 2010. From that year, they entrusted the management to Federation
of Publishers’ Guilds of Spain, "a professional association of private law established in 1978 to represent and defend the general interests of the Spanish publishing sector."

Since December last year, the office began charging management: to obtain a single ISBN costs 45 Euros. The Federation of Publishers Guilds ISBN justified charging, among other things, for conducting an investment of 120,000 Euros
in technology to modernize its management.

With current rates of the ISBN, which benefit registered publishers, for example, can buy bonus of ten ISBN records for 95 Euros, you are forced to pay 45 Euro to sell a books, because without ISBN digital libraries do not allow
marketing.

How much you pay for a paper book? A paper book costs on the street between 18 and 20 Euros. Therefore, ISBN offers at most 2.5 times the amount of a copy in 45 Euros. Consider the procedure to be followed:

To register the ISBN one must register and pay 45 Euros. The user will than be provided by a username and password to enter the details of the book. Once the user completes the form without errors, they sent you
another email in three to four days later giving the user new password to start the download.

It seems reasonable that the ISBN agency review the registration fee of eBooks and has a lot of mileage to improve the recording of electronic books. For starters, it would suffice to study the procedures to be followed,
for example, in the Central Registry, which issues a certificate request for a name of a company for less than 24 Euros and send the paper home by a courier agency in the same price.
