Joss Whedon: No ego problems when shooting for ‘Avengers’
Tuesday, March 13th, 2012 2:52:51 by Waqas TariqWhedon, the director of Avengers which is one of the most awaited films this year, claimed that he had to face no ego issues during the shooting of the film. There were reports recently that the cast of the movie did not get along
well during the shoot and the director had to face a lot of problems.
The filmmaker denied any such claims and revealed that the team had a lot of fun on the sets and there were no issues whatsoever. He insisted that all the stars had a great time and everybody had good understanding.
“The Avengers was the most ego-free set that I can remember being on. They were all in it to play, to help each other, they were having a great time, there was a lot of trust. That’s something one works hard at,” he was
quoted as saying in an interview.
Whedon added that he did not have to work that hard in the beginning as the cast was already decided from the original movies of the characters. He stressed that most of the main roles had already been decided and he had no qualms
in writing the script.
“In the case of The Avengers I was lucky because a lot of the movie had been cast before I came along, obviously they already had their own movies. Some people said, ‘Well, it’s going to be an egofest’. I said, ‘No, I
think these people are actually going to be looking out for each other’. And they really were,” he concluded.
‘The Avengers’ is set to release in May this year and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and Scarlett Johansson.
