Mayor of Istanbul gifts 100 busses to Lahore

Mayor of Istanbul, Kadir Topbas has presented a gift of 100 busses to the people of Lahore during his tour of Pakistan and wants stronger ties between Turkey and Pakistan, who happen to be brotherly Muslim countries.

Topbas is currently in Pakistan on the invitation of the Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif and he has been given an over-whelming welcome in Lahore as the whole city was decorated with flowers and hoardings with the pictures of Topbas and the Prime Minister
of Turkey, Tayyap Ordagan.

On the other side of the coin, the Government of Punjab is trying to establish a better transport system in the city, which seems to be over-populated with traffic at the moment. In the government’s effort to improve the situation, the Mayor of Istanbul
has gifted 100 busses to the city, which is surely going to be a boost for the public transport in Lahore.

Topbas thanked the Chief Minister of Punjab for giving him so much honour and expressed that the people of Lahore have proved once again that they are right up there when it comes to hospitality.

He reiterated the need of exchange of culture between Turkey and Pakistan as the two countries share a history of brotherly bonding.  

“I am very thankful to the people of Lahore and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for according me and my delegation a very impressive greeting in Lahore. And I will never ever forget this great love expressed by the people of Lahore. I announce a gift
of 100 buses from the Turkish people to the people of Pakistan,” Topbas expressed.

On the other side of the coin, the Chief Minister has also called for the need of better relations between the two countries and feels that it was his duty to give a fantastic welcome to the Mayor of Istanbul.

While commenting on the condition of Lahore, Shahbaz claimed that he wants to make Lahore a top-class city on the model of Istanbul.

Lahore is enriched with a blend of different cultures and a little hard-work on part of the government can surely change the fortunes of this city.
