It has been said by Pakistan Government officials that the names of the banned organisations will be removed from the list if they stop their activities across the country.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik noted, “If the proscribed organisations assure us that they have closed down their militant wings and abandoned extremism, then we would like to meet them in next few days”.
He also briefed that, “We have been contacted by several banned organisations that want to sit and talk. If they want to give up militancy we will talk to them as we are revising the list of proscribed organisations”.
Mr. Malik did not mention any specific names but has hinted that Pakistan’s Government is also offered the Taliban to join the federation and stop their operation against the state.
The Government has banned almost 30 militant groups including Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and al Qaeda.
A good step taken by the Government, it will ease up the tension and to stabilise the situation within the country.
Rehman has also mentioned that if the banned organisations assured that they will close down their activist movements in the country, he is willing to solve the matter on the table.
