Lahore: (Wednesday, March 14, 2012) Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (N) Pujnab President Shahbaz Sharif declaring the allegations by Younis Habib as a mere pack of lies, said that the former chief of Mehran Bank should be asked whether
he had proof for the money that was sent to him through telegraph transfer.
Hinting towards suing Habib for throwing “baseless” allegations, the chief minister Punjab during a press conference here today said, “A decision has been made to claim damages and go into litigation against Younis Habib”.
Shahbaz said that everyone was aware of the shady role former chief Mehran bank has been playing throughout his banking career and the crimes he has been involved in.
He said attempts have also made in past to sully Nawaz Sharif’s name, and the conspiracies were being hatched even now against the PML-N leadership.
During the press conference, the CM Punjab hinted towards the fact that someone was using Habib to undermine their political base. “Who is the one that is using the man in the wheelchair?” questioned Shahbaz.
The president of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Punjab said that Younis Habib has altered his statement in past four days. He said, “He (Habib) gave contradicting statements in every interview.”
