Bahawalpur: (Thursday, March 15, 2012) Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, while attending the fifth convocation ceremony at Islamia University Bahawalpur said that their government was fully committed to support the High Education
Commissions, and expected f them to train and groom the youth in a best possible manner.
He said, “The Government is fully committed to support its Higher Education Institutions, we expect that our Higher Education Institutions will train and groom our youth to become the best in the world. We would like these institutions
to maintain the spirit of excellence and generate new avenues of sustainable growth.”
Conceding to the fact that no nation can progress without building a knowledge-based economy, the PM said, “I agree with the Vice Chancellor of the IUB that in this era of science and technology, no nation can progress without
developing a knowledge-based economy.”
However, to him, this was not all, and the overall progress of Pakistani society, it was imperative to build the moral base of the students as well. He said, “Besides conducting scientific research in laboratories we also need
to boost and improve the moral and social values of our culture. I am sure Khawaja Fareed Chair can play a very important role in this regard. Spreading the poetic version of this great saint’s philosophy can help us build a nation that is morally and ethically
strong.”
