Lahore: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) chief, Syed Munawar Hassan said today that the rulers were planning to delay the general elections by one year, and if it really happened, they must remain prepared for a revolution at the hands of his
party.
Talking to the participants of a monthly training session here at Mansoora, the hub of the party, Munawar held the 2008 general polls responsible for wrecking havoc on the country. He said, “The rulers who were elected to power
as a result of 2008 poll caused an irreparable damage to the country.”
Criticising the government’s dual policy of permitting and protesting against the drone attacks at the same time, Munawar said that the ‘Sham protest’ by the government had well exhibited the hypocrisy of the rulers.
The JI chief said that his party will vigorously take part in the next general elections and will bring a surprise for its rivals in the polls.
He said, “The political and religious parties had been in constant contact with one another and be ready for a surprise in the elections.”
