Pearl Jam to start recording new album
Friday, March 16th, 2012 4:43:45 by Haris AnsariPearl Jam, an American rock band, have returned to the studio to resume recording of their upcoming studio album. The band spent a good portion of 2011 in the studio, recording their tenth studio album.
Eddie Vedder, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, has revealed while talking to Rolling Stone last June that he feels being on the road for most part of the year.
“I feel like we have to keep our eyes on the road. Being nostalgic is like taking an off ramp and getting a sandwich – and then you get back on the highway. I don’t want to be spending the rest of my life at the gas station”, Vedder said.
However, the lead guitarist, Mike McCready, has now revealed that the band is in the process of recording the new album and would be unveiling new stuff to their fans in the coming months.
“We started yesterday. We’re in the process of everyone bringing their demos and getting their songs out there”, McCready said.
Pearl Jam released their last studio album ‘Backspacer’ in 2009, and are now working with producer Brendan O’ Brien for the upcoming album. Brien has produced all of the band’s albums except, Ten, Binaural, Riot Act and Pearl Jam.
