Brian Marshall, bassists, and Scott Phillips, drummer and percussionist, have revealed that the band will continue working in the heavier direction that started on their last studio album, ABIII.
While talking to Noise 11, Phillips has revealed that the band is began to find themselves while writing music for their second album, Blackbird.
“Everybody really starting to fire on all cylinders as players and songwriters and I think that’s where the real Alter Bridge sound, kind of, developed. I would think we’ll keep pushing the [envelope]”, Phillips stated.
Marshall also revealed about the band’s upcoming music.
“It’s definitely not out of our system, for sure. If it feels good we stick with. If it doesn’t, then maybe Slash might like it, maybe Mark’s solo project might like it. We asked him if he wanted to come up and jam and he was all about it. The coolest thing
about it was just hanging out with him in the dressing room and his guitar was hanging up next to my little crap ass bass”, Marshall said.
