‘The Hunger Games’ and ‘The Dawn 2’ to be released together
This is the first example of synergy between Lions Gate, producer of The Hunger Games, and Summit Entertainment, the studio is behind the Twilight saga, after the first was done with the second by more than 412 million dollars.
"The trailer for Dawn 2 is issued for the first time at the premiere of The Hunger Games. This becomes the biggest launch in the history of Lions Gate," said Jon Feltheimer, company executive, told Los Angeles Times.
Despite spending $ 100 million it’s supposed to Lions Gate’s production of The Hunger Games, the company now has the trailer premiere of the latest instalment of the blockbuster franchise based on Stephenie Meyer’s books serve to attract more people to theatres.
On the possibility of a sixth film in the series starring Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart, co-president of Lions Gate and former co-president of Summit, Rob Friedman, clarifies that the decision is carried out by Stephenie Meyer, the author of books.
"If I was willing to write a sixth book, Lions Gate could support a big-screen adaptation," Friedman concludes, and thus leaves the door open for the continuity of the blood-sucking on the big screen.
The Hunger Games is directed by Gary Ross and based on the novel by Suzanne Collins. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland and aims to fill the gap left at the box office for two other literary
sagas who jumped to the movies: the own Twilight and Harry Potter.
