Adrien Brody recalls intense preparation for ‘The Pianist’
Tuesday, March 20th, 2012 2:45:01 by Waqas TariqAmerican actor Adrien Brody has recalled the intense preparation he had gone through before filming Oscar nominated movie, The Pianist. The artist claimed that it was a very difficult period for him as he wanted to perform the role with true passion and wanted it to look more realistic.
‘The Pianist’ was the story of a Polish Jewish musician in the period of the Second World War. It pictures the story of the Jewish pianist who faces a difficult time during the Nazi Invasion of Poland. The movie won huge critical acclaim and won Oscars for the Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and the Best Actor.
Brody insisted that it was a great opportunity for him to perform in a movie that depicted the scenes of the World War and stated that he wanted to do it with full conviction.
“It was very difficult, but it was very necessary to embody that character and to do it faithfully with integrity and truth. And it was very important to Roman [Polanski] that I represented that thoroughly and sincerely,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The actor admitted that the movie changed his life for the better as he came to know how tough a life people before him have lived. He insisted that the film forced him not to take things for granted and stated that it is the main reason he has seen success.
“It had a profound effect on my life, way before the accolades and acknowledgment; it profoundly affected me as a young man and I attribute that to my real entry into adulthood because I stopped taking shit for granted. Once you really understand how hard life can be for so many people, it’s all perspective. You stop being blind to things,” he concluded.
Adrien Brody’s new film ‘Detachment’ released in February this year.
