Tsunami is moving towards rural Punjab: Imran Khan
Tuesday, March 20th, 2012 6:55:50 by Faisal FarooqPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said the ‘tsunami’ is moving towards rural Punjab, saying that countryside areas will also feel the impact of change.
Addressing a large gathering in Bahawalnagar, the cricketer-turned politician said that law and order situation was worsening day-by-day in the country. The robberies and blood-letting has become trademark of the day across the country, he added.
Khan observed, “High-ups are intoxicated with their luxuries while downtrodden are dying of starvation and hunger under the so-called shades of democratic rule”.
The PTI leader, who has been emerged one of the major political force in the country, said that both the PML-N and the PPP are two faces of same reality.
In his view, the alliance of two major parties has nothing to do with the problem faced by the nation, adding that their mission was to safeguard their own interests under the umbrella of politics of reconciliation.
Khan argued that both of the aforementioned parties seem to stand in opposition to each other; but they hug one another leaving behind the national interests when the matter is of their stake.
After coming into power, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will introduce new system based on impartiality and justice, he added. He vowed to exterminate the politics of police station and court.
He promised that he would take the looted wealth back in country and use for uplifting national development, adding corruption mafia would not be let successful.
About the separate province, the PTI chairman asserted, “The demands for Seraiki province, Bahawalpur province are increasing as the inferiority complex among people is rising. But we have a clear mandate: provinces should be in the form of administrative units”.
Commenting on role of intelligence agencies, the captain asserted their interference in mainstream politics should be discouraged, warning them of organizational destruction. Pure democratic values and traditions could not be nurtured in the country without free and fair system, he commented.
Flaying criticism on secret services, he opined it was absolute dishonesty that the wealth of the masses was used for political purposes on individual level.
In his view, the people’s wish for change is palpable all along the route as they come out for the PTI.
