Hypertrichosis which is also called Ambras Syndrome. There is an excess of hair growth on skin of body, face and pubic area.
Usually there are two types of werewolf syndrome (hypertrichosis): one is generalized hypertrichosis and the other is localized hypertrichosis. Generalized hypertrichosis occurs all over the body and localized hypertrichosis restricted to the certain
areas of the body. Werewolf syndrome is a traumatic situation for those people who are suffering from this disorder.
Causes
Werewolf syndrome is caused by an abnormal and defected gene mutation. Non-functioning of endocrine gland and malnutrition, hereditary and over usage of drugs can also be causes of this disease. Werewolf syndrome sometimes occurs at the birth times because
of the abnormal mutation of genes. It is also called congenital werewolf syndrome and it is very rare. This syndrome can also occur sometimes in later life which is called acquired werewolf syndrome.
Symptoms
Werewolf syndrome is excess if hair on body. Hairs which grow in this syndrome are usually longer than normal and consist of many hair types like:
vellus, lanugo and terminal. Different hair patterns could be finding on human’s body. Some of the affected patients have teeth defects and enlarged gums. Sometimes patients could have werewolf syndrome because of cancer or side effect of any medication.
Treatment
For the treatment of this syndrome, many hair removal methods, treatments and medication can be used. There is no cure for congenital werewolf syndrome but acquired werewolf syndrome can be cured by proper medication and treatments. However, hair bleaching,
hair shaving, electronic hair removers and laser hair removers can also be used for the treatment of acquired werewolf syndrome.
